Abstract

|
Strategy for the skin testing of new chemicals and fininshed products is rapidly evolving by technologic advancements and regulatory pressures since last decades. This review is aimed to summarize the in vitro and human skin testing methods
including a brief update on the development and validation status of various tests. The ongioing efforts to develop alternative methods of skin irritartion test and integrated safety evaluation strategy model are pressented for the test standardization in multicentric studies. Thus, the authorities and researchers from different sectors are now required to discuss for the development and validation of the skin irritation tests suitable for Korean circumstances.
